Your founders or senior managers are handling HR queries that should not reach them.
You have grown past 50 people but HR is still informal, inconsistent or undocumented.
A compliance issue, grievance or exit has exposed gaps in your HR processes.
You are about to scale headcount and want HR infrastructure in place before problems arise.
Your HR person left and you need continuity while you decide what to build next.
Signs you need HR advisory
You are making a significant people decision — restructuring, a senior hire, a compensation review — and want an experienced perspective.
Your HR policies exist but have not been reviewed in years and no longer reflect how you work.
A people issue has escalated and you are not sure how to handle it correctly.
You want to understand what good HR practice looks like for an organisation at your stage.

Who this is for
Organisations with 50–500 employees that have outgrown informal HR but are not yet ready to build a full in-house function. Founders, promoters and MDs who want HR handled properly without managing it themselves. Businesses going through rapid growth, a restructuring or a leadership transition.
Case study — Technology services
Context
A 120-person technology services firm had no documented HR policies and was handling all employee issues through the founders. A compliance notice from a statutory authority triggered a review.
What we did
Kriate HR conducted an HR audit, documented core policies and processes, set up a grievance mechanism, took on monthly HR operations support and provided advisory on a senior leadership restructuring.
Outcome
Within three months, all statutory compliance gaps were closed. The founders stopped receiving HR queries. The restructuring was completed without a formal dispute.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between managed HR and HR advisory?+
Managed HR is ongoing operational support — we run agreed HR activities on your behalf. HR advisory is project-based or retainer-based counsel on specific decisions: compensation, restructuring, policy, sensitive employee matters. Many clients use both together.
Is this suitable for a business with no HR team?+
Yes. Many of our clients are growing businesses that have not yet built an in-house HR function. We provide the structure and day-to-day support they need while they scale.
When should a founder hire an HR head versus outsource HR?+
Outsourcing works well up to roughly 200–300 employees, or when HR needs are operational rather than strategic. Once you need a full-time HR leader driving culture, talent strategy and leadership development, an in-house hire makes more sense. We can help you think through the decision.
Does managed HR include payroll?+
Payroll coordination — liaising with your payroll provider and ensuring HR data is accurate and timely — can be included. Payroll processing itself is typically handled by a specialist payroll provider.
Can we use advisory on a one-off basis?+
Yes. Advisory engagements can be project-based — a single compensation review, a restructuring, a policy update — or on a retainer for ongoing access to senior HR counsel.
Can we adjust the scope over time?+
Yes. We review the engagement every quarter and adjust the scope as your organisation's needs change. Changes are agreed in writing before they take effect.
